A selection of oil pastel paintings completed between 2014 & 2015. During this time span Joe completed more than 45 paintings in an effort to discover more about impressionism, technique, light, and texture. His most recent series (not yet featured) utilizes every-day objects as canvases to highlight the importance of art in society and to show that even high art can come from unlikely sources. Apart from a bachelors degree in architecture, Joe has no formal art training.
The 9x9 series was created between September and December of 2013. It is a series of 9 free-hand architectural drawings drawn on 9"x 9" pieces of paper. Each drawing depicts a different form of architectural representation or a different drawing technique.
The travel drawings are a select series of free-hand sketches drawn while living in Rome and traveling around Europe in the spring of 2012. Drawings and Sketches from Mexico City coming soon.
